Felicia declares that she will be with someone who loves only her and not be entangled with other women, and decidedly leaves her fiancé who was having an ambiguous relationship with his friend's widow.
She then gets into a rebound relationship with Ernst, who after wooing & pampering her suddenly breaks up with some flimsy excuse. She pleads and begs and tries everything to not breakup but to no avail. Later he gets involved with another woman and gets engaged etc etc(fake but she didn't know and he never explains or apologizes either).
Eventually goes on to fake his own death, comes back as a different guy and even kidnaps her best friend amongst other things.(ofc all done for her good😝)
She then gaslights herself into thinking that she should have more trust in him and she is the one who doesn't deserve him!
I mean , is she the world's biggest pushover?
Anyways, I finished this incomplete story , so others don't have to go through the ordeal.
Just like the previous reviewer said, the FL comes off as a doormat but that's only in the beginning of the story. But as one reads on she starts to find strength and her voice while facing so many hurdles, like her cancer diagnosis (which is a bit of an overkill in portraying her as a poor thing). Unfortunately it's an incomplete story and we never find out how she exacts revenge on all those ppl who bullied her. And also would have loved to know how her love story with Keith unveils.
Well written, but toxic storyline.
She has an affair with her married first love where he gets both his wife and her pregnant and he chooses his wife to build a life with and dumps her! He tells her that he has been separated from his wife but obviously not since he's slept with both women within a few weeks, although not at the same time. And years later when he finds out tht her daughter is his, he has the nerve to get mad at her. She doesn't rlly hold out much and very easily gets together.
Toxic storyline, inststances of repeated sexual abuse followed by heartfelt apologies! There are many other disturbing plot lines on top of this. I would flag these kinds of stories and urge Findnovel to stop publishing such tripe.🤬
Another awful story! Male protagonist is involved with so many women, once even caught in bed with one but refused to give any explanation for it, even though nothing physical happened. Meanwhile the wife is forbidden to even smile at her male colleagues 😡
She is even more poorly treated throughout the story, but ofcourse she loves him so much she takes him back.
This book almost comes across as a guide to abuse(physical, mental, sexual) for abusers!I don't understand who writes such vile drivel!
Badass FL and super supportive ML!
A different kind of story.
She is super badass and Owen lets her take the dominant role in their relationship (after tricking her into being with him).
My kind of book, so I thoroughly enjoyed it👌🏼
@kim jones, I don't remember reading about any domestic abuse?🤔
I kept reading this book, wanting to see how the lauthor makes Ian make amends for hurting and humiliating Eleanor previously in their marriage when he was flaunting Vanessa all over town.
But unfortunately, except for saying sorry every time, Ian doesn't really have said or done much. Very disappointing is Eleanor, who is such a strong , intelligent and accomplished person, is taking half the blame for their marriage falling apart!
Is cheating same as miscommunication?
Short of actually having a physical relationship with Vanessa, Ian was in every sense having an affair(yes, not willingly). And Eleanor seems to have lost her brain cells when she is taking the blame in all this, because according to her she never questioned him about it!! Somehow the author forgot about the many times Ian treated her so badly for Vanessa's sake.
Even now, amongst all the people at every party, Vanessa is referred as having been Ian,s woman. Isn't that humiliating for Eleanor? I thought her character was one of great self respect and self esteem. True, Ian had done things for her in the past and even now, but does that forgive all transgressions? So, a man can cheat but is forgiven because he's done you favors?
Yet another disappointing story.
This one is really not worth one's time. How low a woman's self worth has to be to take back a spouse who has deceived her on every level...
