Horrible story. Seems to be a mashup of several doormat wife stories when the neglected wife realizes the man cheated and says she's divorcing.
Main Characters: Aurora, Alpha Ferris, Alpha Adrian
1. Divorce doesn't happen until over 200 chapters after several different nonsensical reasons drawing out the typical "30 day" timeline these tropes seem to have. But then it doesn't matter because he's now living in her house due to the mother in law requesting it... the same mother in law that abused her for the entire marriage under some baseless threat that just shows how weak she is after all this.
2. In the beginning of the story, while filing her divorce, she had called and conceded to a marriage to Alpha Adrian, apparently someone that she had been promised to marry by her father before she chose Alpha Ferris instead. So, then it goes on to her communicating with Adrian, buying dresses, engagement rings, and Adrian even buys her a limited edition Porsche. The story was going well, then the first 30 days flew by with no divorce and although Adrian was still in the picture, it wasn't as her fiance, but seemingly, as a childhood friend that recently came back into her life, has a crush on her and wants to protect her... the engagement forgotten completely.
3. Aurora is constantly getting raped by Ferris as the secret divorce countdown continues and his aggression rises due to not being able to control her. She continues to go places privately with him and then act defiant, which leads to him being aggressive and yet another r*pe scene. Even after the trial for the divorce, he says he wants to speak with her for a moment, and after being raped several times by him, she goes with him. But instead of stepping off to the side to talk, somehow she ends up in th car GOING somewhere with him, knowing he's unhinged! This leads to a car accident, whip seemed to be deliberate, in which Ferris supposedly gets amnesia and only remembers his WIFE, Aurora, not his evil mother or his beta or anyone else. He is also rendered blind. Which then leads to the mother in law guilt tripping her into keeping Ferris at her home because "he got that way trying to protect her". It is so illogical that... I mean... HE ASKED HER to talk. If he had of just left the courthouse and not bothered her, they wouldn't have been in that car together. But Aurora, ever the doormat, allows it.
4. Turns out Ferris has a twin named Dennis. The story starts to go in another direction, adding yet another love interest, revealing that the entire reason she married Ferris and did so much for him, enduring his neglect and abuse, was that she had mixed up the twins somehow and now understood why she thought Ferris had changed so much from the man she fell in love with. That man had been kind, sweet and considerate of others.
5. Around this point, it's already over 200 chapters. She's finally divorced, but still lives with Ferris in her mother's old estate. There's no mention of her engagement to Adrian and longer, he's just a friend that keeps in touch. She's starting to have mixed feelings about Ferris. He is trying to do things a kept husband would do, keeping house, cleaning, etc. Dennis is made to pretend to be Ferris before the world so that the family won't lose their position with the board and the pack, all his mother's doing. Dennis doesn't like it.
I stopped at chapter 253. I couldn't take reading about her having feelings/catching feelings for the man that raped her at least six times in the past month and a half, nor the excuses she gave for why she had to let it happen. None of them were valid or worth it.
This book was a horrible mess. I cannot recommend it.
