The girl races toward me, like a bird seeking shelter from the storm. She doesn’t realize I’m a far worse predator than the one she’s fleeing from.
I’m Dmitri Morozov, soon to be Pakhan of the most powerful Bratva in New York and St. Petersburg.
People run from me, not to me. Women may edge close, drawn by my money or power. But no one has ever sought protection in my arms before. She’s running down the hall of this luxury apartment building, desperately calling for me to save her. This sweet girl doesn’t realize she’s raced into the jaws of a monster, but I’ll rain vengeance down on everyone who’s hurt her.

Author’s Note
I was diagnosed with ADHD after I’d had our kids and the whole, ‘Well, it must be Mommy Brain!’ excuse no longer worked. When I finally went on ADHD meds, I was so mad that I’d waited so long. The mantra of ‘focus!’ is one I’ve had since I was a college student and I couldn’t seem to keep a single train of thought going without some wild derailment and twenty other thoughts jumping on board.
That said, ADHD is a fascinating diagnosis with a huge spectrum of symptoms and challenges. What I’ve experienced may not fit with your interpretation. Ava’s challlenges are closer to mine.
Now then…
Welcome to the new generation of Bratva Lords! I’m thrilled to introduce you, but remember, this is the Bratva we’re talking about.
As such, there is gun violence, explosions, medical procedures and terminology, blood, depictions of human trafficking and torture (though not unduly detailed) kidnapping, and explicit sex between consenting partners.
If these things are not to your taste, I thank you for stopping by, but please find something you’ll enjoy more. Still here? Excellent! Grab a cup of tea or some salted caramels and let’s get started.
As always, a deeply heartfelt thank you for reading and supporting my stories.
~Fondly, Arianna
