replaced by the new RFL (Robotic Football League). The Pre-RFL years follows the story of
a high school football quarterback, Jess, and his intellectual girlfriend Carly intertwined with
a little organized crime background and damaging CDC reports concerning football by Dr.
Isabelle Mendoza. Jess ends up in a coma after a brutal hit on the field. In the new RFL,
Reynolds, the nephew of mafia boss Dano Verlucci, builds a new team of robot players, but
recruits two human players, Jess (still in a coma but revived by an unethical scientist to play
much like a robot), and Antwan (former soldier with prosthetics for legs and 1 arm) to go
undercover as robotic players. There is tragedy and triumph built around a timeless love
