Wow! This is definitely my favorite story in the series 😍 and honestly I wasn't expecting that at all. I almost skipped this book to read Sierra's story and finally I told myself that I would read it so as not to miss any of the story. I absolutely do not regret forcing myself to read it. I will now read the last volume.
Lex and Raya--forced into a marriage that's obligatory to a merger. Lex, broken by his past, saddled by trust issues he couldn't let go; Raya, carefree and obssessed with finding the true love exemplified by her parents. But Lex told her at the outset that he's not into relationships, that he could give her everything except love. They played their parts fairly well and seemed to be sailing along fine until Sierra, his sister, could not be contacted--then all his doubts and suspicions toward Raya were activated as he eventually put a gun on her head thinking she was involved in her kidnapping. Raya then distanced herself from him, but Lex begged for one chance to win her back. Another narrative weaving a love engulfed in trust issues and brokenness, peppered by Truth or Dare moments, and aggravated by their committing to the secrecy of their marriage.
Enjoying all the works of Catharina Maura--each one with its own distinct storyline yet skillfully connected to other standalones that enable readers to view a community in an integrated whole. Congratulations and thank you very much indeed!
