The Ties That Bind introduces readers to Carr and his community as he sets out to retrieve rings taken in the name of taxes to King Darvel. Who's territory widened to include Carr's community after a few bold thefts by the youthful rogue. (Sorry its another quest for rings but ts more about the adventure than the goal)
These tales can be read separately even though the first 3 follow each other in the fall of Carr's 17th year
