Finally a romance between equals--two billionaires, both powerful CEOs, each loving the other but opting to hide the dephts of their love by hurting each other: Xavier, divorcing and driving Amelia away; Amelia destroying him and getting engaged with another. Yet, when they meet again after 4 years, he tries to pursue her again, only to be rejected again and again. Her reason: She cannot forgive herself for the pain and hurts she has done to him; thus, decided she is not worthy of  him. Consequently, Xavier walks away, telling her: “Deal with it for the rest of your life. . .that you threw away my love just because it was bigger and deeper than you could ever comprehend.” Then Amelia leaves. Two people playing the game of love in their own diverse ways; but in the end, LOVE still  wins --as episode after episode are woven into a beautiful tapestry of raw emotions, stirring reflections, and passionate determination to win the other. Thank you for this.

Review: The Unwanted Marriage: Dion and Faye’s Story (The Windsors)

Crafting a beautiful love story from brokenness caused by guilt, fear, and resentment is challenging. It's however a blueprint for those who'd like to try. Dion, a scion of a wealthy and powerful family is engaged to Faye who's 10 years younger as arranged by their families when he was 12 and she was 3. Dion tries to avoid her through the years, while Faye is being groomed to be his wife. Both feel trapped in a  marriage neither want. Yet, they end up falling madly in love as they support each other on facing their respective demons. Interesting storyline. BTW, I've liked the Windsor Series since Ares and Raven (The Wrong Bride), my first romance in the series. Thanks and congratulations!

Review: Rebound: A standalone, second chance romance (Manhattan Ruthless)

Divorce after 21 years of marriage despite their love for each other because of trust and filial issues. The "affair" they engage in to desperately hold on to each other while divorce is being processed, is a pleasant twist to this romance--it allows them to love without the mask each wears to hide their respective pain, heartaches, and brokenness. Just when they think reconciliation is possible, feelings of betrayal shatter their beautiful relationship. . . but Elijah's persistence wins Amber eventually. Interesting romance!

Iceman and Spitfire, thrown into a marriage of convenience, are falling for each other until he's compromised and discovers that it's been a scheme to defraud him of more money--and he believes she's part of the said despicable extortion. He divorces her. She has a miscarriage. They're drifting apart.  He wants her back but pride masks his heartbreak and pain, while anger covers up her brokenness. Interesting episodes skillfully woven into a profound story line that unfolds the fragility of love blossoming in a distrust-filled and suspicious heart. Worthwhile read with witty dialogues and raw emotions, peppered with sexual vignettes.

Review: The Broken Vows: Zane and Celeste’s Story (The Windsors)

LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH! She’s his nemesis, his regret, his first and only love—the only woman he desires and has been intimate with. He’s her first and only love; the only man who has kissed her and she's made love with. Yet at the most critical point of their marriage, Zane Windsor tells Celeste Harrison: “I love you, Celeste; but love was never the problem between us. You don’t trust me, and no matter how hard I try, I don’t think I’ll ever trust you again either… There is not TRUST between us, and that what was broken can’t be fixed.”

When Celeste asks him: “It’s over between us, isn’t it?” He replies, “I desperately want to try to make things work, but maybe we shouldn’t. We can’t forcibly fix things, no matter how much either of us wants to.”

She seeks her brother who says: “Love isn’t always enough but it does make for a solid foundation, one that’s stronger than he seems to think it is.”

Then Celeste does what she deems fit: she pleads on her knees for her grandpa and Zane’s grandma to grant them divorce because she cannot give the happiness her husband deserves. After intense pleading, his grandma asks Zane: Is that true? I’ll give you one chance—right here, right now. Tell me you’re not sure Celeste can make you happy, and I’ll grant you two a divorce without repercussions.” Thus, the journey to wholeness begins. Good read with many lessons to be gleaned.

I’ve been following the Windsor series because the author somehow manages to weave one-off story lines distinctive to the narrative being unfolded. Ares and Raven, Luca and Val, Dion and Faye, and this for Zane and Celeste—each with conflicts branding unique to the specific romance as each unfolds through episodes building toward an inimitable dénouement.  Congratulations and more success to Catharina Maura. Hats off to you, Madam! I’ve read nine (9) of your 14 novels [5 more to go] and I’ve enjoyed every romance you spin. [So far, this is the only romance that carries a trigger warning.]

Thank you for your remarkable and splendid love stories with peculiar twists.

Love in the face of familial demands in one hand (Merlin), and vile envy coupled with extreme hatred on the other (Sandy). Betrayed, Liesl seeks to destroy the person she once loved and who hurt her the most by seeking out his  nemesis (Isaias) and teams up with him to bring about his downfall. Thus, out of revenge a romance blossoms. Interesting story line weaving engaging episodes toward a wonderful denouement. Thanks for this!

Why are people in love become so vulnerable--stubbornly clinging on to false assumptions and misunderstandings, jumping to conclusions without asking for clarification or giving each other the benefit of the doubt? The trigger? The Lack of TRUST! Many romance spins around love being sabotaged by lack of trust. Is love, therefore, not enough? Danny and Charlie have loved each other for 10 years. Yet when they're called to stand by each other, they succumb to their insecurities, doubts, fears, anxities, uncertainties, etc. Does love conquer all? It depends on the lovers themselves! Thanks for this love story.

Review: The Devious Husband: Sierra and Xavier’s Story (The Windsors)

Marriage is never a walk in the park--regardless how deeply the couple love each other. Xavier has loved Sierra even before he met her, yet he pushes her away after her kidnapping, thinking he'd lose Sierra because of his shady past. Sierra initially regards Xavier as her nemesis but then falls  deepy for Xavier only to be tormented by the past he cannot let go. Two imperfect people trying to build again a life together after failing the first time. Prior to divorce filing, Xavier sends Sierra The Story Of Us-- narrating their love story ending in him letting her go. She returns it because "the ending sucks" and proposes a different ending which both of them should write! A good lesson: You both can write a better ending to your story! All is not lost; love will eventually find its way. Thanks for this 6th romance which completes the Windsor Series. Enjoyed all six!
