Reviews
It becomes pretty boring starting at chapter 40 with the same antics the husband always defending the oh-so-pitiful love of his life against his wife that he's been mistreating. Up until chapter 42 where Nellie (the female lead) did her best for the competition and won, after that is just full of annoying antics from her cheating husband and sister pretending to be a white lotus. I like that there is progress with the female lead but with the side characters just being like that it is becoming unbearable to read. I don't get that the cheating husband are getting a realization on how he mistreated his wife only to do the complete opposite and hurt her more?
Chapter 191 update
I apologize that my words would be hurtful but, is the author a man or a woman who grew up in a dysfunctional family? Because I noticed that throughout their writing, they are pretty biased towards the male lead, Xavier, and would often justify his unpleasant behaviors, but when it comes to the female lead, Yvette, they would label her actions as "selfish" or something along the lines when she is done dealing with the MLs cruel and unkind actions and behavior.
Chapter 271 update
It's painful to read that the male lead doesn't know how to introspect, he haven't tried to collect and organize his thoughts and feelings, he haven't learn how to put himself on the FL's shoes, he haven't learn nor tried to understand where the FL is coming from. There's barely an improvement on him and he's so horrible he always force himself to the FL. These kinds of men are the ones who deserve to be alone for life for they have zero sympathy for others. I reckon that in the future chapters there'll be a backstory why the ML became that way to justify his cruel actions and words.
Ps: I'll update my review again if there's a significant progress in the development of the characters, especially Xavier.
Pss: So there's no significant improvement towards the ML. I like that there's a significant development on the FL's side but it's the opposite for the ML. Don't waste your time if you're waiting for something to happen to them.
At chapter 15 onwards, I don't know if it's the translation or something but it became unbearable to read because the texts are all mixed and you can barely make a sense of it. It's not just a few words or a sentence, but a whole paragraph's texts are mixed up.
Chapter 39: what does the ML (Gideon) mean he's protecting the FL (Alice) by hurting her feelings when he just married her so that he could use the FL as bait to protect his "little-lover" (Gemma) from the threat of their enemies, but now he's thinking of breaking things off with Gemma to be with Alice? I'm confused about the ML's way of thinking?
