This is the first book I have read of this author and I was so happy that I picked this one. Absolutely loved it. Characters are well written
I knew what I was getting into after having read the summary first. But the multiple relationship isnt what forced me to give this one just 2 stars. A good part of the book explores the father and son dynamic which was actually well rounded. But at the crucial juncture of the book, the FC suddenly becomes this whole new persona..a put off.
Picked up this one after hearing the rave reviews on Book tok. And oh boy, it was worth the hype. I didnt know I was reading the third in the series. But, it doesn't deter the story flow and you get a pretty good idea about all the characters.
I think this is the 4th book I am reading from this author. I still rate the wall of Winnipeg the best. Now the good aspects - Again good story line, detailed research has been done. Loved both the main characters. Not so good aspects - The pace of the story starts picking up only after a couple of chapters. Infuriating aspect- The author needs to tone down the excessive use of words in some places..More so in the first half of the book. Its as if someone told the author that she has to fill in a certain amount of words and thus there is unnecessary repetition and description.
Not sure why this absolute cracker of a book hasn't gotten any reviews yet. I would deem this the best work from the author. With the main male character being so grumpy, I wondered how the relationship would even progress. One thing that I absolutely love is how the author pens different troubled family dynamics perfectly. It just squeezes your heart wanting to dive in and give the characters a hug. I have already read this a couple of times and wont hesitate to go over again
Wow, just wow! You hear the alarm bells ringing from the first chapter instead. Thank goodness it wasnt a long read. Because you feel helpless as Grace. The inability to get from the devil. After a couple of chapters, when the pacing slows down, I wondered where it would ultimately lead to. But patience will pay off. That ending just blew me away!
Oh my my! You get humor, drama and plenty of intense steamy scenes (and not the gag inducing variety). The only reason I gave it only a 4 is that the FL's repeated tendency of "violence" (without giving too much away) was off putting, and the predictable misunderstanding in such stories was quite anti climatic at the end. The confrontation honestly wasnt upto the standard. But keep those aside, its a good read
Gahh...this absolute gem of a book left me smiling the whole day after I finished it..abd mind you, I finished it at one go. Such a sweet, lovely book with romance just done right. Two people coming together at their own pace...
The reason for just a 3 star isnt because the story is bad. In fact it is a short sweet one with no obscenities. But the story is as if on fast forward mode. I would have warmed uo to it more if the writer had explored the diving into the relationship a bit more.. since the progression from date to one and only love was so fast that it left me confused if I had missed something. The ending was so rushed. Earlier in the story, I loved how they touched on a mental disorder and how the loved ones suffer. But it got wrapped up unbelievably quickly. Though therapy was mentioned. And the epilogue..thats it?
Quite honestly, I got bored. Its bam wam attraction and done. There is the bratva and enemies storyline on the side. Didn't see any novelty in the story
