Awwww...this book is like getting lots of cuddles, warm blankets and heaps of hot chocolate- all in one. I had read Annie's book first before this one and thought nothing could top that. Oh boy, was I mistaken. Noah is easily high on the list of most memorable fictional characters. A must read!
A good read. Clearly there are other books based on some of the side characters. But you get a gist of all of them. Unike many billionaire tropes, our hero Sullivan at no point is an a*s to Tate, which I liked. The angst has been dealt sensibly. Though one might wonder if the angst was overhyped.
Good read! At the start, I wasn't as invested and intended to drop it. But the prologue is what made me want to continue. I was pleasantly surprised by the end. You fall for all the characters. I like how their love story progressed. Also, unlike most mafia romances, where you have a brooding hero with over the top violence and a sudden love story ; this one is different. You get the characters with substance, and all the usual elements of romance, intimacy and a proper progression without all the unnecessary gore.
A sweet read. You fall for Daphne who is absolutely bonkers and then we see how Daphne brings out the best in Oliver. Two ppl who would have never thought they would find love in each other
A sweet romance without much spice. Normally I gravitate towards such books. But this one didnt keep my interest piqued consistently. It was kinda mid at places. Though Noah's parts were much more well written than the central female character.
Rather than a 4, I would rate it a 3.75 probably. A good short read, doesn't fare as much as maybe Deep End. Story isnt novel, but Ali's writing elevates it. From the start, I liked Olive. Didn't think much about Adam. But he definitely grows on you. Thankfully the angst wasn't overly drawn out. Just restricted to a chap at best. Didnt feel much for Olive's friends. And without giving much away, the "bad" guy's move was pretty stupid given the "power" that Adam possessed. Anyway, not a repeat read for sure.
I am really happy with the book. I am all for well written female characters who have a personality of their own and who is self aware. In fact liked all the characters.
To be honest, my mind did waver a lot while reading the initial chapters and I thought I would give up. But the story just pulls you in once the main characters interact. I thought I was in for a light hearted simple read. On the contrary, it was quite profound quietly offering many deep insights. Another thing I liked was the focus didn't shift from the female character. Yes, the male character was given plenty of space. But the entire book is from her point of view.
Nope..absolutely no. Even from the start, you dont get invested in the characters. And then bring in a sorry excuse for cheating. You can read it only for the spice without expecting more.
Hmm..nope. So it's true that one cant like all books even if you like the author. The writer did try to bring the characters diff facets to make them interesting. But , it didnt work for me.
